Bridesmaid Gift Ideas

I will admit, when I first started writing this blog post, I had every intention of posting it before our wedding day (like, months in advance) and then I thought to myself …. why would I post this when I know damn well my bridesmaids will probably look even if I tell them not to?! 😂 I had their gift bags all planned out since like… the holidays last year, so this blog post has truly been a long time coming, but let’s get into what I got my bridesmaids and maybe I can help inspire some other brides with ideas to spoil their bridal party on their big day.

Limiting the Typical “Bridesmaid” Gifts

When I was thinking about the things that I wanted to gift to my bridesmaids, I knew I wanted to give them some items that were personalized with their name & role on it, but ultimately I also knew that they’d never use these things again after my wedding, so I wanted to ensure that I limited the amount of these type of gifts in their bags.

To keep with that limit, I ordered personalized wine glasses to enjoy mimosas in the morning of the wedding, personalized hangers for their dress to hang on & these adorable I Do Crew slippers in their respective “colours” (one bridesmaid wanted all black items, another wanted all pink, so I gave them what they wanted & felt most comfortable in!).

I also did buy “matching” robes to wear the morning of the wedding, but again, I bought them in their respective colour of choice & kept them totally plain so that they could be used again! Let’s be honest, how many of us are going to wear a satin robe with BRIDESMAID monogrammed on the back after your wedding? Of course, all of these gifts had to go in something, so I also purchased a monogrammed, reusable bag with their first initial on it. Again, an item that doesn’t scream “bridesmaid” that can be used again!

Getting Gifts That They Want

At the end of the day, when you’re spending money on gifts for your bridesmaids, I think everyone wants to know that they’re spending their money on things that will be used again, so when I started brainstorming, I asked my girls what they wanted & they told me they wanted Yeti tumblers — okay, sold! Of course, me being someone that shows my love for people with gifts, I also picked up the straw lid for the tumblers so we could all have water in them the morning of while we get ready!

To top off this gift bag, I added in some Smart Sweet peach rings and sweet fish to snack on in the afternoon, mints, and a small bottle of Advil (which I’m sure we’ll need into the evening!) incase a headache arises throughout the day!

I hope this blog post was helpful for any brides who may be looking for some “different” gift ideas for their bridesmaids, or ways to incorporate some of the typical bridal gifts like robes & personalized items, with things that their party members will actually use! What was your favourite thing I added to their bags? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, Emily
