My Fall Must Have Items

Happy official first day of the autumn solstice everyone! We are now officially into the fall season, and there is no turning back - summer is gone, and we are one season closer to saying “goodbye, see ya never” to 2020 on December 31st (yes, I am vividly counting down the days to kicking 2020 in the ass on the way out the door…)

Now that we’re into fall, and I can openly talk about the cooler weather and all of my favourite things that come with it, in today's blog post I’m sharing all of my overall favourite fall items, and things that I think we all need to make it through the cooler months, until we get to the really cold months (January, I’m looking at you). So, let’s jump into it, starting with my favourite thing in the world to have on hand during the cool months:

Big, Cozy Blankets

A bunch of blankets on a bed

Do yourself a favour if you haven’t already, and keep a big cozy blanket on your couch, as well as in your bedroom. There’s nothing I love more than sitting on the couch cuddled up in a blanket… and quite honestly, probably taking a lunch time nap on said couch, with said blanket. If you’re anything like me, I like having the windows open all through the fall until the weather drops to around 0° and I can’t bear it anymore, but the only way I can get through that is with my cuddly blankets. I suggest keeping one in your bedroom too (I keep mine on the end of my bed) if you sleep with a partner that steals all the blankets too.

A Go-To Heavy Cardigan

You’d think considering I like to have the windows open throughout the fall, that I’d be hot all the time. Nope. I’m actually usually cold throughout the fall, winter & spring, and absolutely sweating throughout the summer. So, to say that I like to have a very warm cardigan on hand, always, is an understatement. If you’re picking a nice warm, cozy sweater to keep on hand, I’d suggest going with a neutral colour that goes with just about everything and anything, so you never have to worry about sacrificing style for warmth.

The Perfect Fall Booties

If you ask me, one thing that I make sure to buy every fall is a new pair of fall booties that will go with any outfit. Have you noticed a bit of a theme so far? I’m a big fan of both style & function - in my opinion, there’s really no reason at all that you can’t have both. You can definitely also get comfort & affordability in the perfect pair of fall booties, so just expand your horizons while hunting down your perfect pair of booties, and I can almost promise you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for.

Hand Lotion To Keep In Your Purse

There’s no denying that as the weather gets cooler, the more you’re in need of hand lotion and extra moisture for your dry hands. Combine that with the constant hand washing that has come with the global pandemic in keeping ourselves healthy, I’m always in desperate need of having hand cream with me. My personal favourite hand cream is the Safe Hands Antimicrobial Hand Lotion from Saje Natural Wellness. Not only does it smell great, but it also is so thick without being greasy! It also comes in multiple sizes so you can keep a big bottle at home, and a small tube in your purse.

A Tumbler To Keep Your Coffee Hot

Is anyone else a complete hermit until it becomes bearable to be outside for a couple of weeks (aka, when it’s not too hot, but not too cold), and like to go on walks? Well, if you’re like me, and you do exactly this, especially in the morning, you may want to bring your coffee along for the stroll, but you’re worried it might get cold? Well, I’ve talked about this product before, and I will talk about it forever & ever – you need to get yourself a Yeti 20oz (or 30oz) tumbler, like, yesterday. Just do it – you won’t regret it.

So what are your fall must have items? Most of mine seem to revolve around comfort, cuteness & coffee. The three most important C’s, if you ask me - hahaha. Don’t forget to come back to the blog on Friday at 1pm EST for a new blog post all about fall!
