Holiday Gift Guide for Pets

And onto the final gift guide of 2022 — my gift guide for the best, furry friends in your life! Now, I’ll start by mentioning that this list is exclusively catered to dogs and cats, so I do apologize to my rodent, bird, fish & reptile parents, but this won’t be the list for you. Though it might seem very obvious what to get your pets (toys and treats — duh), sometimes there’s other things that you can get them that’s really a gift to you. Let’s get into this gift guide!

Gifts for Dogs

TOYS

Is there anything dogs love more than a brand new toy? Okay, wait, yes… treats! But if your dog is a toy-lover, you can’t go wrong with a new one for your four-legged bestie. I like to get Freddie tough toys because he’s a rough chewer, but I also can’t stop picking up those adorable plush holiday-themed ones…

TREATS

I mean, has any dog ever met a treat that they didn’t love? I know my dog hasn’t! We love to look at the holidays as an opportunity to make it “fun” to refill his regular treats and have him take them out of a bag that I wrap up for him.

FOR THE DOG PARENT

I mean… it’s your money after all right? Haha! But seriously, some items are definitely a bit more for us, the dog parent, than our fur baby themselves, but why wouldn’t I want to see my dog in something as cute as a winter jacket that also keeps him comfy and warm!?

Gifts for Cats

TOYS

I will admit, I don’t have a cat and never have, so I had to recruit an internet friend to give me some recommendations! It seems like it’s safe to say cats like interactive toys, and you really can’t go wrong with a catnip toy.

TREATS

Again, has any pet, dog or cat, ever met a treat that they didn’t like? Since I don’t have a cat, I didn’t want to recommend specific treats based on the fact that I can’t vouch for their quality, (with the exception of Benny Bully’s — they’re great for both dogs & cats!), so whatever your cats favourite treats are, grab some refills & let your cat open it up!

FOR THE CAT PARENT

The same logic applies here that it did in the dog section — sometimes the gift is just as much for the cat parent as it is for the cat!

Lastly, if you find yourself not wanting to get your furry friend a gift this holiday season, something that always goes a long way is a donation to your local animal shelter or rescue, because in my opinion, all animals deserve a safe, happy & healthy day, everyday.

There you have it! The final gift guide for the 2022 holiday season. I can hardly believe that the season is truly in full swing now, so don’t forget to get shopping before it’s too late!
