My Favourite Natural Cleaning Products
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I don’t think it’s any secret that I’m a big fan of natural products. Over the last few years, I’ve found myself going towards more natural products in beauty, skincare and even scents to fill my home (my personal favourite thing to use is a diffuser with essential oil blends from Saje!). This change is definitely not limited to home cleaning products.
Right before the pandemic started, I had pretty much switched all of my all-purpose cleaners to more natural options with significantly less intense smells. Fast forward to March 2020, I went back to using strong, chemical cleaners, for obvious reasons. Now, one year later, I’m making sure I’m getting back into the swing of using natural cleaning products again. In today’s post, I want to share with you some of my favourites!
Laundry
TRUEARTH ECO-STRIPS LAUNDRY DETERGENT
This is a newer addition to my collection, but I love this product! Not only is it more natural, but it’s completely eco-friendly with no plastic involved. You just tear a strip off, and throw it in the wash with your clothing. The packaging is cardboard, making it completely recyclable, compostable & biodegradable.
SAJE SWEET SHEETS ESSENTIAL OIL & WOOL DRYER BALLS
This is a tried-and-true product for me. A few years ago, after seeing (you guess it) Jillian Harris promote these dryer balls with the Sweet Sheets essential oil on her stories, I went out and grabbed them. They add the most amazing, yet subtle smell to your clothes from the dryer, and are much less wasteful than a traditional dryer sheet.
Kitchen
I’ve been using Method dish soap for at least the last two years, and the main reason I made the switch was because they were an affordable cruelty-free option that was available at the local grocery store. My only complaint about this dish soap is I find it can lose the bubbles a bit more quickly, but it’s not something that deters me from continuing to purchase the product.
METHOD ANTI-BACTERIAL ALL PURPOSE SURFACE CLEANER
I purchased my first bottle of this anti-bacterial surface cleaner around a year ago now, and it’s one of my favourite products in my natural cleaning collection. It’s a great replacement for other big-box brands that use tons of chemicals to disinfect a countertop — you just need to let it sit for about one minute to let it do it’s thing!
Bathroom
METHOD ANTI-BACTERIAL TOILET BOWL CLEANER
After cleaning my toilet with a regular cleaner, I could not stand the smell of the chemicals and artificial scent used in the product, and that’s when I knew I needed to make a switch. I grabbed the Method anti-bacterial toilet bowl cleaner and I’ve been a big fan of it! It smells clean but not too overpowering & gets the job done!
Another one of my favourite cleaning products is the Bathroom Bright spray from Saje. Although, it unfortunately looks like it’s currently not being sold, but knowing Saje, I expect it to be coming back soon. Once again, this is a product that’s made it that I don’t have to suffocate on chemical fumes while cleaning my bathroom.
General Cleaning
SAJE MULTI-CLEAN ALL-PURPOSE CLEANER
The perfect cleaner for any surfaces that don’t necessarily need to be sanitized is the multi-purpose cleaner from Saje, Multi-Clean. It smells great, and of course, just like most other products on this list, doesn’t have any harsh chemicals in it. It’s my go-to cleaner for most of the surfaces in my home.
Another product that Saje currently doesn’t seem to be selling, but I’m sure will come back. I find this product works just as well as the classic glass cleaning product most people have come to know and love, but without the smell of chemicals and fumes. I love to use this with a dry reusable paper towel to reduce my waste.
There you have it! My favourite natural cleaning products. I know this pandemic has seemed to put a real dent in the fight for more eco-friendly products, with reusing being put on the back burner due to fear of spreading germs. I haven’t been perfect, that’s for sure, but I’m trying to get back into it!
