My Favourite Podcasts

Podcasts — it feels like everyone and their mom has a podcast now (and in some cases, that’s actually true!). But in a sea of so many shows to pick from, it can feel a little overwhelming, especially if you’re new to listening to them. In this blog, I want to share with you guys my personal favourite podcasts; but to start, I want to tell you what kind of podcasts I enjoy listening to, so you don’t come in here looking for wellness podcasts & find what I’m suggesting just isn’t your thing.

Most of the podcasts that I generally like to listen to fall under, what I would say to be two categories — story-telling & advice/education, and most of them are not exactly PG. There’s usually a lot of cursing, and adult topics being discussed, so if you’re not really into that, I wouldn’t necessarily say this blog post is for you. Now without further ado, let’s start sharing all of my favourite podcasts!

Pretty Basic

Hosted by two YouTubers, Alisha Marie & Remi Cruz, both of whom I subscribe to & religiously watch on YouTube as well, Pretty Basic is the epitome of 20-something topic discussion as they talk about everything from their dating lives to what it’s like being influencers. Is it the most “educational” podcast – nope. But is it entertaining & funny as hell? Absolutely!

Unsolicited Advice

Funnily enough, this podcast is co-hosted by Alisha Marie’s sister, who is also a YouTuber that I religiously follow as well, Ashley Nichole! Alongside Ashley is her best friend Taryne, where they ask their listeners to write in stories that they need advice on & then they give their “unsolicited advice”. Most of the topics revolve around dating, but it’s a very humbling podcast in the sense that you realize that just about everyone has the same problems as you, and they have a fantastic spooky October series that I anxiously await every year.

Wild Til 9

Yep, another YouTuber-hosted podcast, but this one by LaurDIY (yep, subscribe & watch her videos too!), and her boyfriend Jeremy. This is another story-telling based podcast where Lauren & Jeremy talk about their, sometimes rather R-rated, life experiences. It is without a doubt, one of the podcasts that I look forward to new episodes of every week, especially since I love how raw and real they both are in the telling of their stories.

Don’t Blame Me

Rounding off the YouTuber-hosted podcasts on this list is one hosted by YouTuber & actress Meghan Rienks, alongside her producer Melisa D Monts. Similar to Unsolicited Advice, Don’t Blame Me is an advice podcast where listeners call in with their life problems & look to Meghan & Melissa for very straightforward, blunt guidance. It can be very real & very funny, but also filled with tons of rather serious topics.

Girls Talk Too Much

You might be wondering what on earth this title comes from, but if you’re a huge Disney fan like I am, you’ll know that this is a reference to the Disney classic, Peter Pan. Hosted by the founders of My Oh My Supply Co., a line of Disney-inspired apparel & accessories, Lindsey & Ali, this is your podcast if you want to be up to date on all of the Disney tea. That being said, this podcast is not exclusive to Disney content - they also touch on topics that every 20-something can relate to, including online dating, new Netflix shows & of course, Tik Tok.

Asking For A Friend

Last, but certainly not least is Lauren Conrad’s podcast, Asking For A Friend. Lauren talks about tons of topics including fashion, beauty, motherhood, design & everything in between. Unfortunately, she hasn’t seemed to have recorded a new podcast in a while… I’m talking the last episode went live on July 24, 2019, kind of while. I’m really hoping she returns to recording episodes soon as I loved listening to her chats with the various guests she brought onto her podcast.

Well, there you have it - my favourite podcasts! What are your favourite podcasts? Also, are there any that you think I’m severely missing out on? I have iWeigh by Jameela Jamil next on my listen to get into, but I’m always open to suggestions. Thanks for reading along & see you again next week for some new posts.
