Woodland Christmas Decor
If you’re anything like me, you are probably enthralled by the Christmas season. I love everything about Christmas - the lights, the decoration, the snow (yes, I’m one of those people), but above all, I love giving well thought out gifts to my loved ones & spending time with them. But, if there’s one thing that I’m not as obsessed with about Christmas… it’s the colours. Traditional Christmas colours, though I can enjoy, aren’t my favourite by any means; and by traditional colours, I specifically mean red. I don’t know if this change in me happened when I dyed my hair red, but for some reason, it’s just not something I love a lot of in my decor. I appreciate a splash of it here & there, but overall, I’m content with green, white and beige in my decor, with just a dash of red throughout. So, if you’re more like me when it comes to your holiday decorating, check out my favourite woodland Christmas decor below!
1. Wooden House | 2. Garland | 3. Pinecone Lights | 4. Wreath | 5. Winter White Candle | 6. Fox Ornament | 7. Christmas Tree | 8. White House | 9. Deer Ornament | 10. Bottle Brush Tree | 11. Tree Candle | 12. Knit Blanket
There’s a lot of reasons that I love woodland decor, but my number one is that it’s much easier to make it feel just like winter decor after the holiday season, so you kind of get to enjoy it a bit longer. I’m not sure why we associate wreaths and garland so much with Christmas, but my best guess is that it’s usually got red and gold ornaments on it, so it feels like you can only leave it up at Christmas. If you keep it a bit more simple, and leave your garland bare, or adorn it with natural materials & items like burlap & pinecones, it’s a lot easier to justify leaving it up for the season, versus just the holidays.
Another one of my favourite parts of woodland decor is how it gives such a winter-wonderland feel to your space. Like I mentioned above, it’s a lot more fun to decorate when you can leave it up longer without feeling like you’re past-due on the holiday season. Realistically, to each their own, if you want to put up Christmas decorations and leave them up until March, be my guest, but I guarantee you’ll get a lot less flack for leaving your wintery, woodland decorations up throughout the winter!
How do you like to decorate for the holidays? Are you more of a traditional-style Christmas decorator, or are you more like me where you like a woodsy, outdoors look?
