9 Wedding Guest Dresses Perfect for a Summer Wedding
Wedding season is officially here, and after the last couple of years of putting so many nuptials on hold, 2022 and 2023 I’m sure to be the years that are just filled with wedding invitations arriving in your mailbox. I don’t know about anyone else, but since it’s been a couple of years since my last major outing, my wardrobe is in serious need of some new dresses, particularly for the upcoming influx of summer weddings. There’s so many options out there, but don’t worry, I compiled some of my favourites so you don’t have to go on a hunt for them yourself!
1. Mid Length Dress | 2. Long Sleeve Mini Dress | 3. Tiered Maxi Dress | 4. Midi Wrap Dress | 5. Smocked Midi Dress | 6. Long Sleeve Patterned Mini Dress | 7. Slip Dress | 8. Fit-and-Flare Mini Dress | 9. Cowl Neck Slip Dress
There’s truly so many different dress codes for weddings — casual, beachy, formal, black tie, cocktail; you name it, it’s a dress code. But I feel like the most common summer dress code I see for guests is casual, or like an outdoor garden theme. Maybe I’m wrong, but for the season, I think it makes the most sense! I see black tie & cocktail as more of a fall/winter wedding thing, but hey, that could just be me. Anyways, let’s focus on the task at hand here — the perfect casual/garden wedding guest dress for the upcoming season.
Simple & Trendy
I can already see the simple slip dress being the go-to wedding guest dress this summer, and for good reason! It’s lightweight, comfortable and really doesn’t require much effort to look great! If I was going to wear a slip dress, I’d spice it up with some fun sandal heels, simple hoops, a set of stacked rings & of course, you need a little handbag to hold all of your essentials.
Classic Garden
This look is hands down what I’d 100% wear to a garden/outdoor/casual wedding. I’m such a huge fan of maxi dresses, especially sundress styled tiered ones with ruffles, this is without a doubt my favourite look, and can so easily be dressed up with some espadrilles (which are a great option if you’re going to be walking on grass!), a natural straw clutch and some bangles and bracelets stacked together. Best part? I can totally wear a dress like this again!
Sunset Ceremony
Who doesn’t love the idea of going to a wedding on a cool summer evening? I know I swoon at the thought of it. But, the reality is it can get cold in the summer once the sun sets, so come prepared with a long sleeved dress if you’re going to be outside at night a lot. Pair it up with some simple heels, a bold & bright handbag, and some jewelry like a statement ring & earrings to warm up your look.
There you have it! Nine wedding guest dress options for all of the casual/garden weddings you’re invited to this summer (and suspect there’s a lot, I feel like it’s all I’ve seen on socials lately!). If you end up getting any of these dresses and wearing it to a wedding this summer, let me know in the comments below! Otherwise, here’s to a couple of years of weddings to get caught up on from 2020/2021!

P.S — I know I’m wearing white in the main image, but don’t wear white to someone else’s wedding unless they’ve asked you to, okay!?
