Time for a Wedding Update!
Firstly, I’d like to start off by saying, hello again! I know I took a bit of an unannounced break from the blog, but life has just been far too hectic to keep up with everything lately, so I decided for my own sanity, it was time to put something on the back burner for a bit, and it ultimately had to be the blog. But, I’m back, though probably not as frequently as I’d like to be, but I am still back.
Now, time to discuss the wedding! One of the things just taking up so much of my time over the last few months, particularly over the last few weeks. Let’s talk about where I’m at with planning, how everything is going & what’s still left to do.
Where are we at?
It has been a hot minute since I’ve done an update, so let’s just start getting into it! The last time I checked in with you all, some of the major things we had on our to-do list were: picking & ordering our wedding bands, chatting with the florist, selecting the bridesmaid dresses, getting my fiancés suit & finding my wedding shoes. Well, all of these things are done. His suit arrived a few weeks ago, my bridesmaids dresses were ordered in the winter & have since arrived, and are now with them, just waiting for the time to book alterations. Our wedding bands are picked & already arrived weeks ago, and I found and broke in my perfect wedding shoes.
In addition to all of this, I’ve gotten all of my bridesmaids gift bags ordered and put together, as well as our invitations, packed them up & now they’re just waiting in a box to be mailed out. A few weeks ago, we picked out our décor & main course selections for our guests, and I’ve got my hair & makeup trials booked, so now we wait! Ultimately, we’re really just counting down the days and finalizing a lot of little details at this point.
So, now what’s left to do?
There’s really not much left to do at this point, honestly! Of course, there’s some last minute details that can’t be done quite yet like ordering our cake (this is specific to our bakery of choice, lots want orders placed months out), alterations for my dress (though that’s been booked!), and applying for our marriage license, but all in due time, as they say! Next thing we know, it’ll be time for all of these things to be done and suddenly it’ll be our wedding day.
Though there is still a while to go, this will probably be the last detailed wedding update before the big day, since quite honestly, I don’t really know when I’ll have time to sit down and write a detailed blog out again. I cannot wait to share more details about the wedding when it’s past, and I look forward to sharing the names of all of our wonderful vendors for the day with you!
