The Best Neutral IKEA Furniture

Over the last few months, I’ve been working on furnishing my partner & I’s space together, and while we hit a few bumps in the road (if you read my blog Where To Splurge & Save For Your Home Decor, you know). During this time, I’ve come to realize that there’s a reason IKEA is so well loved — it’s affordable, looks good & quite frankly, you can make adjustments to the products to fit your look pretty easily to some pieces (Kallax unit, I’m looking at you!). Here are some of my personal favourite neutral items from IKEA that I feel are worth the money & will look great for a long time!

Dog lying on a couch.

FINNALA SECTIONAL

To start, one of my absolute favourite items I’ve ever purchased from IKEA. You may or may not know this story, but a couple of months ago, my old couch broke, and we needed to buy a new one. Of course, being a young adult just starting out, I don’t exactly have the budget to purchase a $5000 couch, so after my partner & I scrolled through the IKEA website, we landed upon the FINNALA Sofa, particularly the sectional (love seat + chaise). Not only do I love that the couch is completely customizable, but there’s so many great things about it! The chaise has storage, the couch is slip covered so it’s easy to clean or replace it with a new or other colour in the future, and of course, it’s so comfortable. I can’t recommend this couch for people just starting out enough!

HEMNES 2-DRAWER CHEST

Honestly, I love just about everything from the Hemnes collection at IKEA. I do even plan on eventually getting the 6-drawer horizontal dresser eventually to spruce up our bedroom. Not only is the overall look of this chest very easy to make work in a ton of different styles, the handles also can easily be swapped to make it look even better.

Dining room table with chairs and a large pot of hydrangeas on the table.

LERHAMN DINING TABLE

For our very first dining table, I truly cannot complain about this one. Not only do I love how modern & simple it is, it’s also a great size for apartment living, especially since we don’t have a huge space for our dining room items. I love the wooden top paired with the white to add a little bit of a natural look, while staying with the white furniture that I so obviously love.

VEBJÖRN DESK

Alright, if I’m being honest, the desk in this image isn’t actually the same desk that I have linked and that’s because, the desk in the shot is no longer being sold and I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. All of that being said though, a beautiful desk to work on, especially during this pandemic where we’re all staying and working from home is a must as far as I’m concerned.

There you have it! Those are some of my favourite pieces of neutral-toned IKEA furniture. Of course, I have to give honourable mention to the KALLAX Unit, because honestly who doesn’t have one of these in their home?! Haha! Thanks for reading along & see you again on Friday for a new blog!
