Creating My Dream Office

Hello all, and welcome back to the final part of this little “creating my dream” series. I have had so much fun making these and thinking about all of the elements of a space, and what I’d do with them. As much as I have loved all of these spaces, I think I’m most excited about showing off this space — the office. It’s the space in our homes that most of us are spending a vast majority of our time in the last year or so, and I’m 100% a desk-worker, so having a dedicated office space is a must for me.

Of course, this being me, I value a nice looking space, just as much as I need it to be functional. As a creative individual, working in a creative field, I very much draw inspiration from the area that surrounds me and will greatly affect my mood, as well as my inspiration. Let’s get into the details of what my dream office would look like:

Collage of items to create my dream office.

Flooring & Paint

Much like every other room that I’ve shown in this little series, hardwood flooring & a neutral paint colour are what I see for this space. I’ve never been a big fan of carpets, and let’s be honest, with office chairs on wheels, rolling on a hard surface is much easier than a carpet!

Reading Corner

Honestly, I’m not much of a reader, but I’m a firm believer in having a quiet spot, and that for me would be a reading corner (aka, a cozy spot to be alone and do whatever I need to do!).

Lighting

But really, who wouldn’t want a big, beautiful chandelier in their office? Talk about making the space regal & gorgeous! This chandelier from The Cross Decor & Design brings a bit of a modern look to the space too since it’s not the typical classic chandelier look we all think of.

Workspace

Like I mentioned in the intro of this blog post, I’m totally a desk worker. I will occasionally sit on the couch and get work done, but for the most part, I like having a designated area to work, especially since work from home began. Having a large space & comfortable chair are an absolute must, and don’t forget to consider ergonomics as well.

Accessories

Much like any other space, accessorizing, decorating & putting the final touches on the space are just as important as the big pieces of furniture. In fact, I’d actually venture to say that they’re more important because it’s what makes a space feel cozy & like you’re in your home.

Well friends, that’s a wrap on these little blogs about creating my dream spaces! I really loved making these collages and getting to think about how I’d make these spaces up if I had no budget & all of the room I required, haha! I hope you loved this series as much as I did, and I can’t wait to get a jump into Valentine’s Day content — it’s coming so quickly. See you again on Friday for my first Valentine’s gift guide of 2021!
