Decorating for Thanksgiving

I know, I know, it feels early, but Thanksgiving is less than one month away! Even though I am Christmas obsessed, there’s a certain coziness to Thanksgiving (and overwhelming feeling of an intro to spooky season!) that can’t be denied. Lots of good food, candlelight, and of course, being surrounded by family – and maybe even some friends – is one of my favourite things about this time of the year. But, in my opinion, a well decorated space also really sets the cozy mood, so let’s talk about some of my favourite decor for this upcoming Thanksgiving season!

Pumpkins

Is there anything more perfect than pumpkins for the fall season? (The answer is no). And the best part about using pumpkins in your Thanksgiving, or even your day-to-day fall decor? They can easily be used into the Halloween season too! If you ask me, or anyone really, pumpkins are the quintessential Thanksgiving decoration.

Candles

Thanksgiving is all about eating lots of delicious food & wine, celebrating with your loved ones and of course, achieving maximum coziness, and there’s no better way to do that than with tons of beautiful candles. But, when lighting candles, please be careful! Keep them in a secure vessel, away from areas that could be dangerous and keep your eyes on them throughout the evening. This is basic candle-safety, but hey, I figured I’d mention it!

Seasonal Decor

Yep, it’s obvious, but I know a lot of people don’t love to have tons of seasonal decor. But I’m here to tell you, you don’t need a lot of it to achieve the seasonal feeling! Plus, it can be functional too – like soup bowls, placemats & even a pitcher to hold the flowers that your guests bring as a thank you. It isn’t Thanksgiving to me without some seasonal decor to set the mood.

So there you have it! Some of my favourite Thanksgiving decorating items that are available to buy right now. If you purchase anything, let me know in the comments below (or tag me on Instagram!), or if there’s anything you include in your Thanksgiving decor that I didn’t mention here, the comment section is always open to new suggestions!
