Father's Day Gift Guide
Disclaimer: When I originally wrote this blog post, it was well before the Black Lives Matter movement, and up until now, I didn’t really think it felt appropriate to make this post live, so we could all take some time to listen to melanated voices, learn new things and educate ourselves.
Another holiday coming up while we get to sit in quarantine, wondering how long until we get to see our friends & family again. Regardless of if you’re able to give your dad (or dad-figure) a hug this Father’s Day, I hope you’re able to treat them to the perfect gift that they deserve.
I know that many people around the world have unfortunately lost their jobs, and if you’ve read my blog before, you’ll know that I was one of those people who temporarily lost their job during this pandemic, until I recently got called back to work, so while creating this gift guide, I wanted to make sure there was something for everyone, regardless of what you can afford to spend.

Jack Black Razor + Jack Black Beard Lube + Jack Black Razor Bump & Ingrown Hair Solution | 9. Festool C 18 Cordless Drill | 10. Chatbooks | 11. FaceTime | 12. Smart Sweets + Boom Chicka Pop
Never Have a Cold Drink Again
A great gift for those who enjoy a cold drink (whether it’s a diet coke, or a beer!), this Yeti Can Insulator is not only just a fun gift, but a problem solver. There’s nothing worse than drinking a room-temperature beer, and the best part is this can insulator comes in three sizes, so you can even buy one for use with tall boy cans.
A Frozen Moment in Time, Framed
If your budget isn’t huge this year, for whatever reason, you can’t go wrong with your favourite photo of you and your dad in a nice frame. You can get an affordable on like this Best Dad Ever Photo Frame from Indigo, or if you’d like to spend a bit more, you can get a personalized or engraved frame.
No More Watered Down Whiskey
Perfect for anyone who enjoys a good bourbon or whiskey every now and then, Whiskey Stones are a must-have. I don’t personally enjoy whiskey, but I’ve heard there’s nothing worse than when ice waters down your drink, so I’ll take their word for it, and add these to my cart!
Stay Connected & On Track
Definitely on the highest end of the budget is the ever-famous Apple Watch. I’m well aware that not everyone can afford this, but if you can, this would make for one stellar gift. As a self-proclaimed tech-nerd & avid Apple Watch wearer, I can promise you that if your dad is into tech, staying connected or keeping in shape, this is a fantastic gift that will quickly become a staple in their everyday wear.
Their Regular Order
Another potentially affordable option on this list, depending on what your dad likes to drink, is gifting him his favourite bottle of liquor, or cans of beer. If you’re going for a whiskey or bourbon, you can also bundle this with the whiskey stones from above for a complete-package gift.
A Stylish New Mug for Their Morning Coffee
I’m all about gifting mugs – if you’ve followed along on the blog for a while, and have seen my other gift guides, you’ll know at least one mug pops up on almost every gift guide I’ve ever put together. Mugs make a great, affordable gift since you can find one for everyone to match their interests or personality.
A Delicious Surprise Delivery
If your dad is one of those people that just has everything, and constantly tells you “you don’t have to get me anything for Father’s Day” (insert eyerolling here), you might be forced to think outside the box. One thing that everyone loves is food from their favourite restaurant, so treat your dad to a meal from his favourite restaurant (provided that they’re open, depending on where you live!)
New Tools for a Freshly Shaven Face
Jack Black Razor | Jack Black Beard Lube | Jack Black Razor Bump & Ingrown Hair Solution
Being stuck at home has definitely knocked me off the wagon of up-keeping things like sucking it up and buying box-dye to cover my roots, and washing my face (although, I’m getting better!), and I have to imagine some men are probably getting a little lazy on the shaving of their face. A new shaving kit will not only be an update, but also may inspire people to jump back into a routine again, even if it’s not their “normal” routine.
Tools for their Favourite Hobby
Someone out there has to have a dad who only asks for tools as gifts, right? If you’re reading this and thinking “yep, that’s my dad”, this section is for you. Do a little inconspicuous digging, and find out what exactly your dad is looking for – given the time of year, maybe some new landscaping tools, or maybe your dad has wanted to renovate or build something new. Like I said – do some digging, and find out! Just be prepared that a lot of tools are very pricey, so if it’s out of your budget, another option would be a gift card towards that tool.
A Collection of Memories Stored in One Place
Somewhat similar to the photo frame idea, is the idea of creating a book full of memories. Maybe you took a family trip that stuck in your heart, or you have a lifetime of memorable photos and one framed photo just won’t do it – this is where creating a Chatbook comes in. You can create a fully printed book of photos of whatever you’d like to gift your dad this Father’s Day.
Get Connected, Virtually
For any of those who are really not able to spend anything this year & don’t live at home, a simple call or video chat with your dad goes a long way. Families are all really missing each other right now (and I am no exception), and even spending an hour catching up, laughing together and talking about life would make a wonderful gift. If you want to try and play some games with your dad/family, an app I highly recommend is Houseparty since they have games built right in & they are super fun to play together!
Snacks & A Show
If you’re still living with your parents, and you want to have a fun night of bonding, next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up your dads’ favourite snacks like popcorn, chips and/or candy, and tell him to pick a movie. After dinner, get together as a family, give him his favourite snacks and spend time together. Time spent together is the most underrated gift, if you ask me.
I hope you found something on this list that will fit within your budget and allow you to spoil your dad. If you were inspired by any ideas on this list, let me know in the comments, or even if you have your own ideas, tell me what you’re planning on doing for your dad this Father’s Day – I’m always open to hearing new ideas! See you again next week for another blog, xo.
