My Favourite Hair Accessories
Hair accessories. I feel like you either love them or hate them. If you love them, this blog is for you, since I do too! Some I think of wearing more than others (*cough* scrunchies), but I do love them all. To preface, I’m someone who’s usually very annoyed when I have my hair in my face. I feel like my hairline is pretty far up on the front of my head, and it creates a lot of annoyance for me when I’m trying to do something and I can’t seem to stop moving it out of my face & behind my ears… and then it falls forward again & I’m just repeating the process all day. So, let’s talk about some of my favourite hair accessories & why I love them so much!
Headbands
Let’s start with the hair accessory that I’m sure a vast majority of you thought of when you first read this post — headbands! I’d say this is the hair accessory that I wear the least, but I always think to myself that I should wear more often. My favourite thing about headbands is that they keep my hair out of my face the best without having to put my hair up, however I think I avoid wearing them often since they can kind of hurt behind my ears after a while.
Scrunchies
My personal favourite of the batch — scrunchies! I wear a scrunchie… like, pretty much every single day. If I’m not wearing my hair up in a scrunchie to keep my hair out of my face, I will use a scrunchies to put my hair up at night. If there’s one thing I hate more than having my hair in my face during the day, it’s having my hair in my face at night. My scrunchie collection is probably at well over 30 at this point, and my personal favourite places to get them are from Chelsea King, Dew Edit & Allette & Co.
Hats
Lastly, I love a good hat! In the summer, I genuinely find myself wearing wicker/straw sun hats or a baseball hat, depending on the outfit that I’m wearing that day. In the fall, I love stiff brimmed hats & rocking a beret with the right outfit! In the winter, I love wearing toques because it stops my hair from blowing in the cold winter wind, and also makes me look taller (LOL!). I used to really hate wearing hats and felt very conscious that everyone would be looking at me since I had a hat on, but I’ve since got over that ridiculous fear, and starting rocking them whenever I can!
What are some of your favourite hair accessories? I have to give an honourable mention to the cute hibiscus hair clip that I wore in Hawai'i last year.
