Holiday Home Decor Tour

With it being the beginning of December, I thought there’s no better thing to post on my blog than showing off my holiday decorating I did this year! My favourite holiday to decorate for has, and always will be Christmas. Fuzzy blankets, fluffy pillows, warm white lights, presents under the tree — what’s not to love? The best part is when you’re done and then you get to cozy up under those fuzzy blankets and fluffy pillows on the couch, with the Christmas tree on while watching a cheesy holiday movie… there’s something so magical about it all.

This is our third year decorating our home together (well, I should say the third year of me forcing my husband to deal with my decor obsession), and now that our dog Freddie is a bit older and isn’t chewing on random things as much, I finally bit the bullet and bought us a tree last year! I’m so happy I decided to just go for it because it was such a deal, but also the tree really makes the space feel so cozy and festive!

The Living Room

Starting in the living room, this is without a doubt the most decorated room in the entire apartment, because it’s our largest space and also it’s where we spend most of our time! I obviously had to cozy up the couch with some seasonal pillow covers & a fuzzy blanket because is there really anything better than a cup of hot chocolate under a blanket on the couch while it snows outside? (The answer is no).

Like I mentioned at the start of this blog, I also finally got us a Christmas Tree this year, and I couldn’t be more excited! The moment it arrived, I put it up and decorated it. To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about a pencil tree. I’m normally not that into them, and prefer a fuller tree, but I’m shockingly obsessed with it — better to have something than nothing at all, right? I also got these gorgeous chocolate brown velvet ribbons to add to the tree this year, which I love!

Lastly, I love sprucing up around our TV with holiday decor. I do it with Halloween, so of course I had to do it with Christmas too. From bottlebrush trees, string lights & ceramic house, and everything in between, I love putting a bunch of holiday knick-knacks there for me to look at while I watch TV. I even like to spruce up my frames with holiday themed digital art that I get printed at Staples for a super affordable price. My favourite online shop to get digital prints is Jilly Digital, and I even have a discount code for you all! Use code EMILY20 to save 20% on your order!

The Bedroom

The other room in the apartment that I like to decorate is our bedroom. Though, I will admit that I keep this space relatively simple, I still like to cozy it up for the holiday season by swapping out our regular duvet cover for a flannel duvet, as well as flannel sheets so we stay nice and toasty (and struggle even more than usual to get out of bed in the morning). I also like to add a little bit of a winter-Christmas look with some decorative pillow covers and a faux potted tree. Lastly, string lights are basically a lifestyle for me, so I added a set into our faux olive tree from Artiplanto that I won in a giveaway from Emma Courtney a few months ago, and not only is it so cute, but it makes our room feel so cozy.

Now that it’s only 24 days until Christmas (OMG!!!), I’m really taking it all in and enjoying my cozy decorated space with a hot cup of coffee and some of my favourite Christmas music while snuggling my dog. Thanks for reading along & I’ll see you again real soon for another festive blog!

Until next time, Emily
