How to Make a DIY Dried Floral Wreath
* Disclaimer: This blog post is sponsored by and features gifted product from You Floral.
We are officially in that boring time of the year — the time between the holidays and spring, where the weather is purely grey & depressing, and we’re counting down the minutes until the official return of the spring solstice, thanking everyday that the sun is staying out just that little bit longer. Well, I’m here today to share a fun home DIY that I’m positive will bring some joy to not only you, but your space to help you get through those longer days (and nights!).
Before I jump into it, I’d like to thank You Floral for kindly gifting me these beautiful dried florals to create this DIY wreath for you. You Floral is a Canadian florist based in British Columbia that provides fresh and dried flowers, however please contact them directly to see if you can have fresh florals shipped to you!
Dried Floral Wreath
Step-by-Step Guide
What You Will Need
- Dried Florals
- Grapevine Wreath (I got mine from Michaels!)
- Floral Wire or Hot Glue (Optional)
- Ribbon of your choice
Directions
- Start by getting your dried florals prepped. If you have any pampas grass that was a little squished in shipment, use the hot setting on your blow dryer and blow dry for a few minutes to bring it back to life!
- Trim down any stems that are a bit too long. Loosely place your dried florals where you think you will like them; once you're happy with the look, starting from the bottom layer (which in my case was the top of the arrangement), hot glue your stem and place into the grapevine wreath. If you're using floral wire, place your stem into the grapevine wreath, cut a bit of wire, and place it through the wreath and stem, and back out, twisting to close. Or, if you're like me, and you're able to insert them into the grapevines, make sure they're secure. Repeat until all of your dried floral stems are in place.
- If you used hot glue, allow a few hours for your stems to dry & set in place.
- Lastly, to hide any stems that may be sticking out on the front, wrap the ribbon around the wreath to cover them. You can leave the tails of the ribbon long, or cut them right off — your choice!
- Hang up your wreath & enjoy in your home!
