Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching (we’re talking a matter of a few days here folks! Time to get planning!), if you haven’t decided how you’re spending the most love-filled holiday of the year, it’s time to start thinking about it! Now, if you’re here for me to tell you to go out to a restaurant, you’ll be fresh out of luck — if you’re looking for some new ideas, then this blog post is for you! Let’s jump into it.

Sunday Brunch

Is there anything cuter than the idea of your valentine cooking up a big brunch with heart shaped waffles, mimosas and of course, flowers & candy!? I mean, hey, I love breakfast food and if it was up to me, this is exactly what I’d pick to do for Valentine’s Day, pretty much any year! Although, I guess if there wasn’t a pandemic, I’d probably want to go to a restaurant, haha.

Picnic at the Park

Okay, well, considering where I live, we’re buried in about a foot of snow (at least at the time of writing this) so this isn’t exactly a perfect for one for everyone, but if you live in a warmer climate & you can get outside without freezing, packing up a nice picnic for you & your valentine to enjoy at the park, or if you should be lucky enough, at the beach makes for a great substitute to going to a restaurant.

Movie Night & Take Out

My most-likely Valentine’s Day plans are exactly this! Ordering in some take out from a local restaurant (do your best to support a local business whenever you’re ordering take out!) and pick out a movie on Netflix to watch while snuggled up on the couch. Anyone have any good movie suggestions for us to watch?

An Adventure You Both Love

One thing that we personally love doing is going on little outings to places that we both love, such as taking our dog to his favourite park, going to a farm, checking out a new restaurant or even just wandering around the city together. Any of these things, as long as you both love what you’re doing makes for a great Valentine’s Day date!

Go for a Walk Together

Again, if it’s freezing where you live, this might not be the best option, but if you’re into getting out into nature, taking a walk through your neighbourhood, or venturing to some hiking trails would be not only a fun Valentine’s Day adventure to have with your partner (and your dog, if you’re like us!), but also a nice change of scenery from your home.

So what are you going to be up to this Valentine’s Day? Are you heading out to a restaurant, or are you staying home for another year of date-night-in? I know we’re going to be ordering a heart shaped pizza, drinking a glass of wine & enjoying each other’s company over a movie!

Until next time, Emily
