My Biggest Tips for Attending the Eras Tour

I still cannot believe that I get to write this… this past Friday, June 21st, 2024, I went to the freaking ERAS TOUR in London! I have to start by giving my friend Stacey the biggest shoutout because without her, I wouldn’t have been able to attend this incredible concert and making my little Swiftie dreams come true.

Now, let’s talk about some of my top take aways from this concert – from what you really need (hint: it’s actually not as much as you think), to sharing my outfit details, and more!

Must-Have Items

Let’s start with some of the most important pieces of information (in my humble opinion), and that is what are must-have items that you definitely need to have with you when you attend the Eras Tour. As I mentioned above, I don’t really think you actually need that much. I’ve seen people give lists of 10+ items, but really, mine is about 5 items long, and a couple of them are going to be dependant on your venue, and outfit!

  1. Loop Earplugs: If you value your hearing at all, these are a non-negotiable. The older I get, the more I think about how much I don’t want to ruin my hearing! The earplugs made it that I could hear Taylor more clearly & it drowned out a lot of the cheering and screaming around us. In fact, it sounded quiet when people were cheering with them in & when I took them out to compare, I was SHOCKED. The only downside of these is you can definitely hear yourself singing more clearly than if you aren’t wearing any earplugs.

  2. Foldable Flats: Planning to wear cowboy boots (like I did!), or heels? Just do yourself a favour, and bring a pair of foldable flats to throw in your bag. They’re small, and you will thank yourself after 3+ hours of standing & dancing. I even put insoles in my boots, and it wasn’t enough to save my feet from extreme pain.

  3. Battery Bank & Cable: This may seem obvious, I know, but bring your battery bank & a cable, I promise you’re going to need it. I charged my phone to 100% before I left for the concert, and needed to plug in about half way through. Just check what size of battery bank you can bring with your venue!

  4. Phone Bracelet or Crossbody: Let me tell you, having my phone on a little bracelet that I could quickly record and/or take photos, and then just drop and not worry about my phone being placed properly in my bag was amazing! Plus, it’ll help you keep a hold of your phone while working through big crowds.

  5. Buy Water!: Don’t think you’re going to make it through 3+ hours of singing and dancing without getting some water, and stay hydrated, especially if you’re going to a summer show. It gets hot, you’re exerting a lot of energy and you need to stay hydrated. What I personally did was go to the washroom before I went to the venue, and made sure I drank a Liquid IV in the morning, and I was able to sip on water throughout the concert without needing to run to the washroom.

And by the way… I’m going out tonight

I know there’s many people who want some outfit inspiration for the remainder of the 2024 shows, so I figure why not share the details of mine! I did a mirrorball-folklore-inspired outfit because I wanted to sparkle but also folklore is my favourite album! I saw so many people wearing a sequin skirt with a disco ball t-shirt that went with this vibe too, but if you are feeling inspired by my outfit, here’s the details:

So make the friendship bracelets…

When it comes to friendship bracelets, I only ended up making about 40, and let me tell you, that was more than enough. I ended up trading about 3/4 of my bracelets, so don’t let the TikTok’s people share of their 100+ bracelets make you think you need to do the same. It’s a fun experience, but I went to a show with over 88,000 people and only ended up trading about 30 of them – you really do not need that many, so I would highly recommend getting a few bead kits and splitting them with friends and making 20-40. Here are the ones I ordered:

Additional Tips

Avoid long line ups when you get there by getting to the venue when the openers come on! If you don’t mind missing them, of course. But if you are stressed about the idea of waiting in a big line up, or not knowing how long it’ll take, I highly suggest showing up a bit closer to when showtime starts.

Going hand-in-hand with large crowds is sticking around for a few extra minutes at the end of the show. We waited pretty much until we were kicked out of the venue before we left because we didn’t want to run into a mass exodus of 80,000 people trying to get on the tube. Additionally, take a side exit that isn’t the “main” door.

For all of those attending the Eras Tour later this year, have the absolute best time! I hope this little blog post helped answer some questions you may have had before your show, and if you have any other questions, drop them in the comments below!
