My Favourite Fall Home Decor Pieces for 2024

Yes, you read that correctly – it’s that time of the year again. Fall is coming up quickly, and it feels like the retailers have the decor out extra early this year. As a self-proclaimed fall-obsessed girlie, it’s my duty to share all of my favourite fall home decor that I’ve come across this year. If I’m being honest, I don’t think I’m actually quite ready for fall yet, and I’m definitely still in the midst of enjoying the summer weather… but the anticipation of a new season is always so exciting (and I may be a bit biased as an October birthday girl)! Here are a few of my absolute favourite items I’ve spotted this season:

If you were to ask me how I would describe my home decor style, I’d say I definitely lean more into the farmhouse/cottagecore vibes, and I love to extend this into my seasonal decorating as well – building off the foundation, rather than switching up the vibe entirely! When I felt like I finally nailed down my style, I made sure that I included both warm and cool tones throughout our space, so it’s easy to incorporate both throughout the seasons (spring to me is far more cool toned, while fall is warm toned – having both already in our space just means I play up the tones for the seasons).

Bringing Fall Indoors, Naturally

For those of you who aren’t looking to add new decor to their collection (I’m speaking to myself too – I really do not need anymore stuff!), bringing fall into your home in a more natural way, or at the very least – in a simpler way – is a very easy task! Some of my favourite ways to bring fall inside is:

  • Seasonal cut flowers (ex. Sunflowers, dahlias, mums)

  • Swapping candlesticks for warmer tones

  • Ribbons in warm fall tones added throughout my home (ex. Around candlestick holders, on my dinner bell, on doors)

  • Setting the mood with low lighting (no big, overhead lights allowed!), and lighting lots of candles – just be sure to keep an eye on your candles while they’re lit, and keep them away from pets and children.

  • Pumpkins, and lots of them — duh!

You can also bring in scavenged items like leaves, acorns or pinecones, but ensure you check that they’re bug-free and properly dried out before using them.

As much as I’m not truly ready for fall (really, I’m just not ready for winter, and that’s always close behind the reintroduction of fall!), I’m always ready to get cozy, bring out my big sweaters & scarves and enjoy pumpkin spice and apple flavoured everything! Before we know it, pumpkin spice lattes will be back with a vengeance, coming to steal away the last days of summer 🍂

Until next time, Emily
