My Goals for 2025
Every year, I like to give myself a loose set of goals to try to work towards. Funny enough, I find a lot of the time that I end up subconsciously working towards these goals throughout the year since they’re genuinely things that I want to do with my life! Typically, I’ve always sorted things into Personal, Professional and Eco-Friendly goals, but I figured this year I wanted to try to switch it up – these are almost entirely personal goals, but some will definitely cross over into the professional and eco-friendly “themes”.
01. BUY SECONDHAND WHERE I CAN
I started purchasing more secondhand items in the last couple of years, but I’d love to kick it up a notch, and purchase more secondhand where I would normally purchase new. In fact, I’m looking at buying a bike, and given that I wouldn’t use it a lot, I think this is a great opportunity to purchase secondhand. Saves some money, it’s not new & it helps the planet in more ways than one!
02. TAKE A POTTERY CLASS
In case you missed it, I got really into pottery painting towards the end of 2024. I ended up painting four bowls to replace our cereal bowls since we had broken one of them anyways, and it just made me want to learn how to make the bowls myself!
03. LEARN TO SEED SAVE
Over the course of my gardening journey, I’ve learned tons of new things, but one thing that I have to admit I’ve been a bit scared to try is seed saving, and I’m not sure why because it does look relatively straight forward! I’d love to start with seed saving from flowers, and then learn how to seed save from food sources like tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.
04. GET A NEW TATTOO
You know how you hear that once you get a tattoo it becomes kind of addictive? I can confirm that is true. I got a little cursive ‘f’ tattoo back in September 2023 to represent my sweet pup, Freddie, and now I’m getting the itch to add another little tattoo to the collection. In fact, I may or may not have an appointment in the coming days…
05. ATTEND THE FARMERS MARKET EVEN MORE!
I genuinely love going to the farmers market. There’s no denying it’s a bit more expensive, but knowing I’m buying in-season crops that have been locally grown from people in my community makes the price completely worth it. This is also why I’m hoping to get a bike! I’d love to be able to bike to the market with my tote bag, and bike home afterwards.
06. TRAVEL MORE
I am fairly certain that I say this every year, but travelling more will probably be an ongoing goal for the rest of forever for me! I just absolutely love getting to see different ares of the world, falling in love with new places, hearing new languages, and seeing new cultures.
