My Latest Eco-Friendly Favourites

There’s no denying that over the course of the last year and three months, a lot of eco-friendly efforts have been sidelined by health & safety, especially in the form of disposable masks. It hasn’t been an easy year, but there’s still tons of eco-friendly items in my life that I’ve not only continued to use, but even added to my collection! Here are some of my current favourite eco-friendly items:

Countertop Composter & Compostable Bags

A countertop composter is something that I have wanted for so long and finally decided to just buy it in late 2020! Food waste is something that on a surface level seems like something that really shouldn’t be a big deal to throw away, but did you know that because it can’t truly break down, that food waste (think egg shells, banana peels, etc) is actually created CO2? The more you know!

Stasher Bags

I’ve been obsessed with Stasher bags from the moment that I got my first one. I think they’re single handedly one of the best eco-friendly products for anyone at any stage in their eco-friendly journey since they have so many uses, and can even go in boiling water or the freezer.

Face Mask Holder

What a 2020 item, huh? Well, I didn’t actually really know face mask holders were a thing until semi-recently but I’m so glad I got one! You know when you’re out and about, not sure where to put your mask when it’s not in use? Or if you’re like me, and used to use a little plastic bag that you replaced daily? Well this face mask holder is ideal for both of those situations — just wash it at the end of each day with your dishes and you’re good to go!

Reusable Makeup Rounds

Have you ever wondered exactly how many reusable makeup cotton rounds you go through everyday? If you have a similar skincare & makeup routine to me, you probably use anywhere from 1-6 a day. Imagine millions of people using 1-6 cotton rounds everyday and how much waste that creates?! Reusable rounds are by far, one of my favourite daily eco-friendly items in my collection.

Compostable iPhone Case

Last, but certainly not least – my compostable phone case. Anytime that I upgraded my phone, I used to buy 20+ phone cases that were all made of plastic because I loved to have variety, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized I don’t need a phone case for every occasion and I now only have 3 for my current phone, one of which is completely compostable, so it can be thrown into my composter when I’m done with it and rejoin Mother Earth!

What are some of your favourite eco-friendly items? Are you still putting an effort in during the pandemic to be more conscious of your waste? I know I am!
