Simple Halloween Home Decor

Happy Spooky Season everyone! Now that Canadian Thanksgiving has come & gone, it’s time to focus our attention on the most spooktacular time of year - Halloween. Of course, due to the pandemic this year, it’s looking like there’s a good chance a lot of places won’t be allowing trick or treating this year. While it’s unfortunate, I definitely agree it’s what’s necessary to keep everyone safe. Let’s be honest, going door-to-door and being in close contact with tons of people seems like the perfect way for COVID to spread in a community.

But, just because trick or treating & house parties are cancelled this year, doesn’t mean Halloween itself is, and it definitely doesn’t mean we can’t still dress up in a costume & hang out in our Halloween-decorated living rooms watching Halloween movies for all hours of the night. That being said, I know I’ve decided that I won’t be decorating as much outside - don’t want to get anyones hopes up - but I’m still planning on doing a little decor here & there, because Halloween is one of my favourite holidays, afterall. So, I thought I’d share with you all today some simple little pieces of decor that you can add to your home to bring a little Hallows Eve spirit to your space:

Halloween pillow on a couch
Bejewelled faux skull on a table top

It doesn’t take much, really, to give your home the spooky look & feel that comes with Halloween, and it really doesn’t have to be too expensive. Honestly, one of my favourite things to do is buy some crows, and stick them all around the house in various spots. It definitely adds a “feeling watched” vibe to the space! Another easy spooky-trick is if you have any exposed brick, hanging up some faux spider web & faux spiders. I know we’ve all seen this done on the outside of homes, but why bring the (faux) spiders inside too?

I hope this post brought some new, simplified Halloween inspired decor ideas into your mind. Even something as simple as a ghostly mug, or some faux black roses can easily do the trick! Let me know in the comments below if you use any of these ideas in your space. I’ll see you again on Monday at 1pm EST for a new post!
