Unboxing The Summer 2020 Jilly Box
As you can tell by the title of this blog, and I’m assuming you’re equally excited to read this since you’re here, but the new Summer 2020 Jilly Box is out and mine just arrived yesterday! I wasted no time at all getting into this box, enjoying the items, and then instantly started photographing and writing this blog so that I could get this post up as soon as possible for everyone to read! Given that it’s summer, the contents of this box were of course, items that are summery-themed, or perfect to enjoy in the summer. It includes a food item, a home décor item, three accessories, a wearable fashion item, two self-care/beauty items & one add-on accessory item. Needless to say, I’m super excited to use all of these items throughout the summer, and without further ado, let’s jump into the actual unboxing:
Watercolour Print
Emma Allen Design Studio
The first item to mention is the beautiful water colour print by Emma Allen Design Studio. After looking through some spoilers that The Jilly Box account had started sharing over the last few days, it appears that there were five different water colours that were apart of this Jilly Box, and I received the Lemon one! I’m truly hoping that they’ll make the other ones available so I can collect them all, especially given that there’s a certain room that I’m decorating in a tropical theme, and a lot of these prints would look amazing in the space. (These prints may or may not be available through Jilly Digital soon too, so keep your eyes peeled on her Digital Store for them!)
Headband
Dew Edit
When I took this out of the box, I was so impressed with the quality of the Dew Headband! Not that I was expecting something poorly made, especially given that Dew is Kaitlyn Bristowe’s brand, but the stiffness & construction of this headband is incredible! A lot of headbands I find can feel flimsy and like if you could potentially lose it if you whip your head too fast – I mean, I don’t think I’d do this, but who knows, right? – but this headband is not only cute but super well made. I’ll definitely be purchasing more Dew products in the future after seeing how wonderfully made this one is.
SPF 30 Makeup Setting Spray

Yet another item that I had on my wishlist / I’ll probably end up buying this soon list is this Coola SPF 30 Make Up Setting Spray. One thing that I’ve started making sure that I take more seriously is SPF & sun protection (in fact, a blog post about this will be coming relatively soon), and I had been eyeing this setting spray as an option to add to my make up routine…well, whenever I actually wear make up. Anyone else pretty much given up make up during this pandemic? One of my favourite things about this is that the bottle is also glass, meaning it’s easily recyclable!
Caly Cleanse Purifying Mask
Saje Natural Wellness
I was so thrilled to pull this Saje Natural Wellness Clay Cleanse Purifying Mask out of my Jilly Box because it was definitely an item that I had been going back-and-forth on ordering from Saje Natural Wellness for a long time now! Especially since the pandemic started, I’ve been prioritizing self-care and skincare is my number one way of doing this. I’ve already been going through a ton of my current face mask, so I’m super excited to give this one a try! It’s currently getting nice & cool in my skin fridge as I write this, hehe.
Hamptons Linen Dress
Style for the Priv
Okay, so talking about the dress…it’s gorgeous. It’s the most beautiful shade of light pink, an absolutely perfect length for my fellow shorties, and the style of the dress looks incredible on just about any body type! The only downside to this dress… it didn’t fit me, and I do in part, think a lot of this can be blamed on the size guide provided when selecting your size for the item. If I’m being honest, it wasn’t great. In fact, I was under the impression that the size I was going with, would actually be pretty big on me, but I unfortunately was mistaken. I do have a large bust size, so the buttons across the front of the dress wouldn’t even come close to buttoning up – however, I did reach out to Style for the Priv for an exchange & was able to exchange my current dress for the next size up!* This dress will be available for purchase on Monday, June 29th, and I’m in no way saying do not buy the dress, but just know if you have a bigger chest, to expect it to be tight unless you size up.

Update, June 30, 2020: After receiving my dress that I exchanged for a larger size, I wanted to give an update on my opinion of this dress – I’ve got to say, I more than anything want to love this dress, but I just don’t. It looks great when I initially tried it on, but when it comes to moving around, the material still pulls, which results in massive gaps between the buttons & because I have broader shoulders, I can’t cross my arms or pick something up off the floor without feeling like I’m going to rip the back of the dress, which makes it just downright uncomfortable to wear. I am pretty disappointed given that it’s retail price is $119 (CAD), and it’s one of the key items in this box. However, I want to make it clear that I am in no way blaming Jillian or her team for it not fitting me! It’s no one’s fault at all, I’d just like to give them some feedback, so if Jillian or anyone on her team happens to come across this blog post, all I’d have to say is maybe in the future, if there’s a wearable item in the box, opt for a material with some stretch or a style that would be suitable to more body types.
Jillian Harris Edition Beachcomber Towel

I think this item may be one of the ones I am most excited about! I’ve wanted a Turkish towel for a long time (like, I wish I would’ve got one for when I went to Hawai'i back in February), so I was thrilled to see that there was not only a cute Turkish towel in there, but a blush pink Turkish towel, from a Canadian company, Tofino Towel Co. If you don’t already know, Turkish towels dry quicker than your average towel, making them the ultimate beach or bath towel for your home. This specific Jillian Harris x Tofino Towel Co. The Beachcomber Towel is available for purchase already, so if you love it, I highly recommend you go order one now!

Shady Lady Eyewear
So, you know how I said the Turkish towel was one of my favourite items? These I think are my favourite! I already own a pair of Shady Lady Eyewear sunglasses (in the style, Emily – yes, you know why), and I can hands down say that these are my favourite & best quality sunglasses I’ve ever worn (and I’ve owned multiple pairs of Kate Spade New York sunglasses from my time working there). I had come so close to ordering these Hayley Tortoise Shell Sunglasses from Shady Lady only a couple of weeks ago, so when I saw that these were in the box (not to mention, with the cutest blush pink Shady Lady x Jillian Harris case!!), I was thrilled beyond words.
Hearty Tamari Mix
Naked Snacks
Last but not least, the Naked Snacks Hearty Tamari trail mix snack. If I’m being honest, I’m sure these are amazing, but I will be giving these to a friend since I do not in any way, shape or form think I will enjoy these. I’m really just not a big fan of nuts, so why not give them to someone who would enjoy them? If this seems like something up your alley, you should totally check out Naked Snacks because they have so many options for healthy snacks.

Merry Mae Design
Ahhh, The Merry Mae Design add-on earrings! I am so glad that I added these to my Jilly Box. They’re the perfect size and length, and not to mention, not heavy at all on your ears! They’re definitely going to be a really gorgeous pair of earrings to rock pool-side this summer. I also have a really cute face mask that will match for some cute little summer 2020 outing accessories, haha.
I have to say, as much as this box didn’t have as many contents as the spring Jilly Box, I think I may (?) like this box more than the spring one!
