What I Gifted My Bridesmaids

When we got engaged last month, there were a few things that I just couldn’t wait to get started on — booking a wedding dress appointment, booking our engagement photos and getting my bridesmaids boxes put together to give to my closest friends, asking if they’d be apart of our special day. Honestly, even writing this now, I can’t believe that I’m actually engaged and going to be getting married?! I still feel like a big child sometimes, but at some point, it’ll kick in that this is really happening, right?

Back to the topic at hand – my bridesmaid boxes. I had so many ideas from the get-go. I knew I wanted them to be filled with things they’d actually use instead of things covered in the words “bridesmaid” and “maid of honour” — because honestly, who uses that stuff after the wedding? I went back and forth so many times on what to include in the box, but I finally narrowed it down to eight things (yes, I like to spoil my friends). But first, let’s talk about the boxes themselves.

The Wrapping & Presentation

I knew I wanted to keep the boxes and materials I used to wrap the gifts as eco-friendly as possibly could, so I decided to use White Photo Boxes made of cardboard, and they’d be stuffed with Shredded Kraft Paper — items that can all easily be composted or recycled if my friends didn’t want to reuse them. To “seal” the box, I used a layer of Burlap Ribbon and topped it with a layer of Dark Green Velvet Ribbon (this may or may not be a hint at a wedding colour), tied it in a bow, and stuck a snipping of dried eucalyptus under the ribbon to make the box feel complete.

The Bridesmaid’s Gifts

Of course, why you’re really here though is to find out exactly what I gifted my bridesmaids — that is what the title of this blog is called, after all. I wanted to keep the “theme” of this box on the more relaxing, self-care side, so to start, I had to include a Scrunchie from one my favourite small business in what I’m sure will be a signature colour at this wedding, pale pink. I know how much I love to use scrunchies to get ready, so this felt like a must for my bridesmaids! I also included a Notebook and Pen so that they can write down any details they need to know for the wedding.

I also included a gorgeous pink Nail Polish from my favourite beauty bar (not pictured), The Ten Spot that they can use on the wedding day should they want to. Of course, this wouldn’t be a bridesmaid box from me without some items from Saje Wellness! I gave each of my bridesmaids a container of the Goddess Bath Salts, as well as a Lavender Spray to keep them relaxed. Lastly, I had to include a box of macarons from a local patisserie, and a mini bottle of Henkell Sparkling Rosé. it really wouldn’t be a gift from me without rosé!

I’m so excited for my two (yes there’s only two people in my wedding party) closest friends to be apart of my special day and to join me on all of the adventures that I’m sure planning this wedding will be! Even though we plan on keeping it small, and very intimate, I’m positive it’ll be a love of stress no matter what, haha!
