What’s in my Cart for Summer 2024
Summer is so close, I can feel it! No, seriously… it’s been 29°C for the last couple of days, so I quite literally can feel summer being super close at this point. To be perfect honest – summer isn’t my favourite, and never really has been. I always run hot, so adding heat, and an uncomfortable amount of humidity… let’s just say I’m not a happy camper. But, I’ve started to really fall in love with summer fashion over the last couple of years, especially as I’ve gotten more and more into gardening. Every year, I can’t seem to help but adding a new dress and sandal to my collection, so of course, I’ve been eyeing up some cute pieces this year, and I wanted to share those finds with you today!
01. Cotton Dress | 02. Sunglasses | 03. Picnic Basket | 04. Pearl Drop Earrings | 05. Sandals | 06. Bandana Headband | 07. Belt | 08. Denim Dress | 09. Swimsuit | 10. Sunhat | 11. Gingham Bow Scrunchie | 12. Shell Hair Clip | 13. Tie-Back Tank Top | 14. White Denim Jeans
If you’ve read my blogs before, you’ll know that when the summer months roll around, I pretty much live in a sundress (or at least, I try to!). I love that sundresses are so easy to throw on and instantly look put together – plus, they can be easily accessorized to be dressed up or down. I recently picked up this gorgeous white cotton dress from Uniqlo, and I’m already looking to get in black as well because I love it so much.
To pair with my sundress collection, I’ve also been looking to get some nicer sandals for the summer. I have a fair collection, but most of them look more like a Birkenstock-style sandal (which I love for the garden!), or they’ve got a platform – Old Navy has got some really cute styles including these raffia espadrille sandals that are shockingly more comfortable than I expected, and go with all of my sundresses.
I’ve also never been one to shy away from an accessory, whether it be the perfect French Market tote, jewelry or hair accessories, but this year I have to say, other than my obsession with my prized-possession market bag that I bring with me every weekend to the farmers market, I’ve been really enjoying doing more with my hair! Last spring, I cut my hair with curtain bangs for the first time in years, and then later in the summer, did a full fringe bang that I’ve had ever since. There’s something about styling my hair with bangs that is so fun, and I’ve loved trying new things and complimenting my outfits with various hair accessories.
This year, I’ve picked up a few goodies including the cutest bow claw clip, bandana headbands (in blue and green) and the cutest gingham bow scrunchies (in tan and green). The bandanas in particular have been great for gardening, keeping my hair out of my face without having to put it up, and it still looks super cute. Plus, I can easily put a sunhat on top of it, if I need to!
What’s in your cart for this summer season? I have to say, it’s been so fun sprucing up my wardrobe, especially as I finally feel like I’ve found my personal style after years of trying to figure it out. Some honourable mentions for great summer pieces that I’ve also recently picked up go to this oversized button-up and utility shorts, both from Old Navy!
