Feeling Like a 10 at The Ten Spot
If you’ve never read my blog, or don’t follow me on Instagram, you may not know that when I go to get any esthetic services done (manis, pedis, waxing, etc.), I exclusively go to the The Ten Spot, and I’ve gone there for years. Over the course of those years, I’ve done everything from gel manicures, pedicures, waxing and even a facial with them, and I can honestly say that I would never go anywhere else as the services and quality of those services that they provide are like no other. So, let’s talk in more detail about why I love them so much.
01. Cleanliness
Upon looking at the pricing list on the The Ten Spot’s website, you may notice that the price point is a bit higher than the average spa and salon. Well, that’d be because they take cleanliness very seriously & that’s something I value above almost everything else. Getting a manicure or pedicure? Everything is done with brand new buffers & nail files that are attached & removed from stainless steel tools. Things like buffers & nail files go into the garbage after each person, and the stainless steel tools go into an autoclave to be properly sterilized.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever actually thought about this one before, because I know I didn’t until I read through their website, but have you ever thought about how when you go for a wax, that the sticks are double dipped, and maybe the person before you got a Brazilian wax, and now you’re getting your lip waxed? Gross, huh? During waxing services, they use a new stick every time they dip into the wax to stop the spread of gross germs & bacteria. So… yeah, I’m definitely more than willing to spend a bit more to guarantee a more clean & safe service for myself!
02. Friendly Staff & Estheticians
Now, I can only speak for my personal experiences at my local Ten Spot, but I’ve always had the most amazing interactions with the people who work in there, both on the desk & doing the services. In fact, I’d venture to say my nail girl knows more about my life than some of my co-workers even do!
03. Attention to Details
This might seem like an obvious one, but I swear there’s some places out there that don’t really pay close enough attention when providing you a service. Sometimes a spot is missed while waxing, or you’re not happy with a nail shape even though you showed a photo of exactly what you wanted, I’ve never left The Ten Spot feeling like my esthetician didn’t listen to what I was looking for, or left anything half done. Though they don’t offer the same amount of services as what we’ve come to expect from salons, what they do offer they’re incredible at!
These are just some of the ways that I always feel amazing when I go to my local Ten Spot. If you have a location near you, I highly recommend checking them out! There are bars across Canada, and always new ones opening & they’ve even started to expand into some areas in the US!
