How We're Celebrating Halloween This Year

Happy (almost) Halloween everyone! I don’t know about you, but the month of October really seemed to fly right on by… though, that being said, I always feel like once August hits, the rest of the year seems to go by in a blink, and then suddenly it’s New Years! The next blog post you’ll see from me will be in November, and Christmas blogs are coming so soon — like, sooner than you think! But, before I get ahead of myself, let’s talk about what my little family and I are getting up to for Halloween, and how we’re celebrating this year!

A man dressed up as a ghost, cuddled up with a Bernese Mountain Dog and a woman dressed as a witch crouched down beside them.

Since Halloween falls on a Sunday this year, and it seems like trick or treating might actually be a go this year, I’ll probably hand out some candy on the Sunday evening (safely, in my mask!), and “celebrate” Halloween with my partner and dog on Saturday night. Realistically, we’re not going to do too much, since we still have to worry about COVID, but I do like the idea of having a low key Halloween night, so we’re going to throw on a couple of Halloween movies (not scary because I hate scary movies — if you also hate scary movies, check out my blog from last year, Not-So-Spooky Halloween Movies To Watch Tonight), open a box of candy, a bag of chips and pour ourselves a glass of Halloween-themed cider from a local vineyard in my new spooky Bats Old Fashioned Glasses that I got for my birthday, courtesy of one of my friends!

I know this blog was short, simple and to the point, but I really am not doing all that much this year, haha. That being said, how could you resist this cute photo of our little family dressed up for Halloween? I asked on Instagram what people thought we’d be — so, did you guess that we’d be going with these classic characters!?! Happy Halloween everyone!
