Simple Homemade Blueberry Jam

Whether you’re looking for a simple, homemade gift to give to family this holiday season, you want to learn a new skill, or you just really love homemade jams, this simple blueberry jam recipe is a must try! Personally, I love to use jams on English muffins and toast, but my favourite way to enjoy it is mixed in with some plain greek yogurt, or cottage cheese. I love jams, but I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, so this enticed me to try making my own jam from scratch! I found this recipe from 40 Aprons, so full credit goes to this creator.

Before jumping into this recipe, make sure that you have everything you need! You’ll definitely need a medium-to-large sized saucepan or pot, a spoon (I prefer a wooden spoon), mason jars for storage (or 250mL sized jars for gifting) and of course, an apron because we’re dealing with blueberries here!

Ensure that your glass jars have all been thoroughly washed, and properly sterilized in either boiling water, or in the oven. I personally did mine in the oven by setting the temperature to 180°C/350°F, and placed the glass jars on a baking tray, leaving them in the hot oven for 10 minutes. To sterilize the lids, I put them in a heat-safe bowl, with boiling water and let them sit for 10 minutes.

If you’re like me, and wanting to give small jars of your homemade blueberry jam to friends and family this holiday season (or anytime!), you may want to create a special label… well, I’ve done it for you! Designed to have a little cottagecore flair, this label is designed to be printed into a circle 2x2” sticker. I used VistaPrint to print mine, selecting the following settings: circle, 2x2”, white paper – just select however many you need! Download the PNG of the label here, or below!*

* Note: This template is designed exclusively to fit into a 2x2” circular template. If you select another size or shape, it will not be compatible with these settings.

Until next time... Emily
