How I’ll Be Styling The Jilly Jacket 2.0

The day was September 24, 2020, and if you are a Jillian Harris fan, little did you know what hectic day lay ahead for you. Alright, backing it up a bit here – if you have no idea what’s going on, let me start by saying, hello my name is Emily, and I will buy pretty much anything Jillian Harris comes out with! On September 24, in collaboration with Joe Fresh, Jillian launched her Jilly Jacket 2.0 - leopard print puffer coat, down filled with Primaloft ® (made from 70% recycled materials), available in women’s, kids & toddlers sizes. I’m sure most of you knew this, if you clicked on this blog post from a search engine, but hey, I’d rather be clear so everyone knows what I’m talking about.

Now, you might be wondering - what happened that was so hectic? Long story short - us Jilly fans are passionate & we crashed the Joe Fresh website… all day. And no one knew if they were going to get their hands on this jacket online or not. Yes, it was sold in select stores, but supposedly they were gone quickly - some as early as 7am, and apparently there were fights… Yeah, not my scene. Luckily, I have a lovely friend I met online, Emma Courtney (follow her on Instagram!) who so graciously went out and got one for me from her local Joe Fresh, which was a major relief for me. So, if you were one of the lucky ones that snagged a jacket, this blog post is for you:

If you aren’t already familiar, last year Jillian launched the first Jilly Jacket with Joe Fresh in the most beautiful blush pink colour, that was a “regular” length. I told myself “no, I am not going to buy this. I don’t need it, I refuse to buy this one Jillian Harris collab item.” Yeah, guess how long that lasted for? Well, surprisingly longer than I thought. By the time I had changed my mind, it was sold out online, so I figured it wasn’t meant to be. Then I went to the grocery store a few days later, and what do I see? The blush pink Jilly Jacket, sitting on the racks at a store that wasn’t supposed to have it. Meant to be? I think yes.

So all of this to say, I fell in love with that pink jacket - I wore it throughout the fall and winter, so when Jillian announced another one was coming and it was long and leopard print? I knew I needed it and I instantly starting picturing the most adorable everyday outfits like my new favourite hoodie from BBxCollection, a pair of jeans and some sneakers. What’s not to love?

Honestly, who said that rainy days meant you can’t be comfortable and cute?! I mean, it’s obviously a lot easier with the most perfect leopard print jacket, but there’s so many more possibilities! My favourite part about this outfit is that almost everything is from Joe Fresh (who knew they had such cute items?!), with only a couple of other items. If you ask me, Hunter boots are an absolute staple, but really, any super cute (or any colour!) pair of rain boots will do the job in keeping you stylish and dry. Also, can we talk about how the faux leather leggings are only $29!? That’s the best price for faux leather leggings I’ve been able to find, ever.

Am I the only one who instantly thought of how perfect this jacket would be to take your dog for a walk in throughout the fall & winter? Okay, except maybe during a snowstorm - then it may be time to take out your -40 level coat for that walk. Best part? You don’t need a dog to go for a walk! I’m not personally a big fan of walking in the summer – I get way too sweaty, and I’m so pale, I’d probably get sunburnt, so my favourite time to go is during the fall. The length of the coat being on the longer side will help keep your legs nice and toasty warm, and you can go fully Jilly mode by wearing the Harris Hoodie under it!

There are three ways I’ll be styling my Jilly Jacket 2.0 this fall & winter! Were you lucky enough to score a Jilly Jacket 2.0 for you or your kiddos? Or do you have the first version in blush pink? If you have either (or both!), let me know on Instagram how you plan on styling yours, and what your favourite part about it is. As always, don’t forget to come back next week - Tuesday, to be specific - at 1pm EST for a new blog post!
