Thanksgiving Decor, Three Ways

Hello all, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet. To start off today, I just wanted to let you know that starting next Monday, October 12th, I’ll be switching up my posting schedule from it’s current Tuesdays & Fridays, to Monday, Wednesday & Friday! Yep, that’s right, I’m upping it to three posts a week. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little nervous that I won’t meet the three posts a week, but hey, if I don’t, is it really the end of the world? No, not really. I would’ve started it this week but given that it’s my birthday this week, I figured I can start stressing about it next week, haha!

Alright, let’s jump into it! Judging by the title, I’m sure we all know what this blog entails - Thanksgiving decor, three ways. Whether you celebrate or not, I think there’s a lot of beauty in giving thanks for what we have, especially in 2020. Tons of people, myself included, lost their jobs this year (luckily, I was brought back after about a month & a half), and some people lost family to COVID, or other diseases & viruses. 2020 has been hard on all of us. Now, this blog is absolutely filled with things to purchase to make your home cozy, or give you great Instagram photos, but it’s not necessary, and that’s something I wanted to acknowledge before I start going off about decor pieces that really do not make a home just that – a home, it’s the people in it that makes it a home.

Traditional style thanksgiving decor collage.

Starting with the most basic form of fall & Thanksgiving decor is your bold oranges, reds & yellows, tons of pumpkins and touches of gold. Quite honestly, you really cannot go wrong with having a setup like this since it’s so warm & inviting. It’s the Thanksgiving that we all grew up with, and have come to know and love - quite honestly, I look at this and think about how badly I want pumpkin pie.

My personal favourite of the bunch is the farmhouse style. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve really come to love more muted tones in the fall. Overall, I tend to find myself picking more neutral items so it gives me the opportunity to easily (and more cheaply) add in colour, and I find this setup is very similar in that regard. Most of these items can very easily be used in everyday life (chargers, plates, flatware, wine glasses, candle holder, basket, etc), and just need a little bit of fall decor to make them fit the season (it also means storing less when it’s no longer in season!).

Vintage Thanksgiving style decor collage.

Lastly, is the more vintage style. As much as I just said I love the farmhouse style, this one definitely is a close second, and it’s probably because I love pink so much. This style definitely gives me Marie Antoinette vibes, and even though it doesn’t feature a ton of the traditional fall colours like oranges & yellows (and really, no reds anywhere at all!), it still gives you a cozy, fall inspired vibe for your Thanksgiving dinner that will be sure not to disappoint.

Thanks for checking out this week's blog! This is a reminder though, just because I did a blog on Thanksgiving decor, doesn’t mean we should all be gathering this year. I’m just personally someone who likes to decorate, and I’ll be sprucing up my space with some fall vibes to celebrate Thanksgiving just with those who I live with. Stay safe & stay healthy everyone, and don’t forget to come back on Friday at 1pm EST for a new post.
